Stamped Notary Seal or Embossed Notary Seal

A notary seal is used to authenticate the notary's signature on a document and make the notarial act official. The embossed seal leaves a raised indentation on the document made by a metal clamping device and does not use ink. The stamped seal uses ink to mark the document and works best if you need to photocopy it.  In NC both the stamp seal and the embossed seal are acceptable. Cary Notary offers both types of notary seals.

Embossed Notary Seal

The embossed notary seal or raised notary seal is often used for foreign documents. It does not use ink and is not photographically reproducible.

The stamped notary seal uses ink on a rubber stamp to mark the document and photocopies well.
